Last year, Nintendo and Dark Horse Comics announced an upcoming adaptation of the fighting games Arms would debut on Free Comic Book Day and launch in the Fall. The first introductory comic did debut, but so did an announcement of a delay to 2019.
The comic, which is written by Ian Flynn of Archie’s Sonic the Hedgehog fame, was part of a double issue given away on Free Comic Book Day with a Legend of Korra comic. On the back cover, a small blurb says the full comic will be released in January 2019 and will tell the story of Spring-Man’s efforts to overcome 600 opponents standing in his way.
In a recent financial report, Nintendo revealed that Arms has sold nearly two million copies since its release last year.
I’ve heard the preview comic is actually pretty good, so I’d be interested to see the full thing when it releases. Hopefully it is as good as they can make it.
