I love all of these changes and stuff, but can we PLEASE get clarification on the PvP balancing side of this? r
r
PvP is already incredibly unbalanced in its current state, and i’m really hoping they do something about it with these new essences. Personally i’d reduce some effects by 80%, 70%, 50%, etc, depending on the power. And also, please don’t implement something like maledict again 🙁

On vision of perfection, where it says “base cooldown”, do they mean “base duration?” “Cooldown” there really doesn’t make sense.

That’s my thinking. Also, the “3 min cooldown” part doesn’t really make sense; it reads like a passive chance-to-proc, not an active.

I’am really looking forward for this new essence system, which look much more interresting than legion legendary and Bfa azerite system.

It does sound exciting for Arcane though! Otherwise it seems like some specs will benefit from Memory of Lucid Dreams less than others (Retribution Paladin being the other one, aside from mages).r
r
Wonder if mini-Revival caused by Vision of Perfection will also remove negative effects like regular one does. If so, it could potentially be quite interesting, depending on how many dispels are required in new content.

Sloot said on his stream that they arent balancing this to PvP off the bat if at all, be ready for at least a month of Chaos.

These are technically spec-specific, because they use your spec’s resource and cooldown, but they don’t change your gameplay like the usable artifact abilities, and the active abilities that just double the amount of resource you generate are super boring, using up a GCD for a buff, which was the main complaint in BFA alpha/beta with putting everything on the GCD in the first place– the devs clearly did not learn that lesson.

So far every single essence I’ve seen has been completely unexciting. The promise of this system is being buried by generic boring abilities they grant.

As is so often the case, Blizzard offered a really neat promising design and then failed in implementation.
