Weekend Warrior: Saturday Returns Edition – News

This weekend marks the release of the first traditional Metroid game since Metroid: Other M in 2010 (or Metroid Prime 3 in 2007 if you don’t want to count that, or Metroid: Zero Mission in 2004 if you don’t want to count that). You can read Ben’s review of the game here and compare it to the other versions of Metroid II right here. This is also the weekend for the first Destiny 2 raid, plus some other Dragon Ball-related things happening. Can Samus capture attention over Goku’s golden locks?

Let’s check out what the Game Informer staff is spending their weekend doing and playing.

Ben Hanson (@yozetty) – This weekend I have no clue what I’ll be playing. Maybe some
board games, probably some Jackbox. Some friends are in town and there’s a
wedding lined up, so maybe I can still squeeze in a little time for Destiny 2
here and there. Have a good weekend!

Suriel Vazquez (@SurielVazquez) – I’m going on my first Destiny 2 raid, which should be
exciting/frustrating/exhausting. I’m also going to be checking out the Dragon
Ball FighterZ closed beta, if I can remember to log onto it at the right time!

Andrew Reiner  (@Andrew-Reiner) – Hoping to get my power level up to 280 in Destiny 2 this weekend.
If that happens, I may join a raid with the Game informer clan on Xbox One. If
that doesn’t, I can’t wait to check out NBA 2K18’s story mode, which I plan on
blogging about again. My goal: make the biggest ball hog around who doesn’t
play well with others.

Kyle Hilliard  (@KyleMHilliard)- I will be attending a wedding this weekend and am doing the
clean-up thing to try and get 100% in Metroid: Samus Returns, which is a very
good game, it turns out. I might play some more Destiny 2. It’s still not
really getting its hooks into me, but I am having a good enough time that I
would like to see it to its closing credits.

Imran Khan (@imranzomg) – I just moved, so I am going on an IKEA run this weekend to see how futons feel to sit on. Prediction: probably okay! I’m also trying to get through Yakuza Kiwami so I can move on to Destiny 2 with no regrets.
