Guards will now correctly be more willing to assist players in PvP combat who have Friendly or higher standing with them. However, they will continue to not assist players with Neutral standing.r

Corrected an issue that was causing Onyxia to fail to clear the threat of the primary target of her Fireball ability.r

F in chat for anyone who was using GUID macros. Fun police were called.

If your MT stood with someone who had a lower GUID (random, permanent, hex number assigned to characters at creation) your MT would never lose threat and Ony would just spam fireball at them making P2-P3 transition a joke.

Can someone briefly explain?Ony’s phase two fireball is intended to wipe threat from its target. But there was a bug where if it hit multiple players, it would only wipe the threat of the character with the lowest hexadecimal player GUID. GUIDs are assigned at character creation, earlier characters have lower GUIDs than more recent ones. So you just had to find someone with a GUID lower than your main tank, and have them and the tank stack together, which would guarantee no threat wipe for your tank and an easy phase 3.r
r
I mean, the fight’s still a total joke even with this strat being fixed.

Which faction guards does this fix though?

The lengths at which some players go to find an exploit never cease to amaze me…

The stupidity of you to assume it was with intent to exploiting amazes me. All the time spent trying to understand this fight was for one, simple reason. Namely to understand the fight.r
r
If we see that fireballs consistently wipes lowest GUID-target of threat, even in a stack, are we supposed to assume it’s a bug and not intended? Considering that Blizzard have been taunting people about nobody figuring her out even on private servers. Considering Blizzard supposedly have their own QA team, am I supposed to assume that they are incompetent people wasting my time?

Small correction, GUID is not random. It’s iterating upwards by 1 for each character created. You can test this really easily on smaller realms by creating a bunch of characters rapidly.

Ony P2 is a joke either way TBH. Maybe our guild is ranged heavy or something, because she lands fast asf, long before theres any chance for any Deep Breaths. And we certainly aren’t some super gamers or anything, so I cannot even imagine what uber guilds are doing.

Uber guilds are splitting their 40 man raid in half to clear it twice per week, meaning overall dps is significantly lower. Nobody has trouble clearing it with a full 40 man, but with half the dps available in a split raid there is a much large chance of deep breath, tank threat being wiped, etc.
