Like this. Was tired of the advice for nearly every difficult boss being “just stack black claw and stampede”

Don’t the changes to world quests and pets mean it will be much harder to level up new pets?
Comment by Alamandaros
I really dislike them targeting Black Claw, Hunting Party, etc. The problem isn’t with those abilities, it’s that Blizzard keeps designing “difficult” pet battles, like those found in Nazjatar and Mechagon, with the exact same mechanic; you can’t deal more than x% of the bosses health per ability. If they’d maybe branch out and try something else, like the plant boss in Voldun, then maybe people would stop using multi-hit ability synergy as their go-to solution.

Just. Hermit Crab.

It looks like Ikky’s reign of terror will soon be ended. Elite pets will no longer need to fear that adorable little kaliri.

Looks like they are looking to nerf the ever popular Unborn Val’kyr/Ikky or Zandalari Kneebiter/ Twilight Clutch-Sister strategy used to take down nearly every Mechagon and Nazjatar legendary pet battle. But this will effect so many more comps, like some used in the Stratholme battle pet dungeon with swarm. Lil Bling will likely be effected too.

Oh man those are some of my most used abilities, but it will be fun to experiment with Toxic Fumes! No one tell Blizz about Wind-up…

All the strategy guides must be rewrite… :/

I have to agree with Alamandaros. Why nerf the pet abilities? Make boss battle pets more interesting fights so we have more things to counter.

Yeah everyone keep quiet about our favorite Iron Starlette.

Looking forward to the changes. Hopefully it means more pets get a chance to shine instead of just the same handful of pets being used for everything. Probably just means some other combo will be brought to the front though and nothing will really change. Sam deal that happened with Pandaren Water Spirit and Teroclaw Hatchling.

poor Ikky they gonna nerf him so hard that nobody will use him anymore

Mechanicals are going to get owned even harder than they already do now that Blizzard buffs Elemental damage. Not convinced they needed the buff. Besides that if they nerf Black Claw and the Flock abilities that’ll be a much bigger change than anything else listed here. Boss damage reduction isn’t a huge deal, people will always find some strategy to consistently beat them with all the combinations we have available.

I can see Blizzard being meta i some elemental build vs most mechagon bosses but i liked Spineleaf from vol’dun the most due to his passive effect

Instead of actually putting a real, creative thought process into ‘boss’ type pet battles, Blizzard continues to punish the players for devising strategies that work on a variety of opponents. It’s almost like they don’t know how their own creations work, like they don’t even play the game. But wait, that couldn’t possibly be the case after how many times we’ve seen them adopt this attitude towards nearly every aspects of the game from raiding and Mythic+ to creative uses for old items and mechanics. /sarcasm

It’s like OW they want to shake up the meta (For pet battles anyways) at least semi-regularly otherwise we would just be stuck using the same pets over and over again.
Comment by SFFCorgi
It’s the same thing they did to the Howl Bomb. ‘Retiring’ abilities/pets/strats is just part of the normal life-cycle.

In Visions of N’Zoth, all of the new outdoor pet battle World Quests in Uldum and Vale of Eternal Blossoms will scale their level to match the highest level pet currently slotted on your team, instead of always being a level 25 enemy pet. This will also be the case for Nazjatar and Mechagon u2013 all of the pet battle World Quests there are being updated. You can check them all out with a team of three level 1 pets!r
Do they mean the single elite pets?r
The WQ trainer pets do scale already.
Comment by Uchur
Scaling is definitely good change, but I doubt that level 1 pets will be able to win these battles without certain abilities unlocked.

Boss damage reduction isn’t a huge deal, people will always find some strategy to consistently beat them with all the combinations we have available. Boss damage immunity isn’t a big deal on its own, but starts being one when given boss has extensive immunity phases, crazy healing or lifesteal. That, or abilities to straight up 1 shot any pet that doesn’t have dodge / ethereal / decoy etc.
